Debut Single Released

We are thrilled to announce the commercial release our debut single ‘The Very Thing I Fear’ on streaming platforms worldwide including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and many more. The song is also available for listening and download at Bandcamp (which boasts the best audio quality). Our official press release (linked HERE) is also included as an image below.

We celebrated this career milestone by performing in Banff, Alberta high atop Sulphur Mountain this past Friday night in partnership with Banff Gondola. Then on Saturday we performed as part of #AlbertaDay celebrations at Heritage Park in Calgary. It was an honour to be invited by Alberta Culture and to be included in the same line-up as The Travelling Mabels, John Wort Hannam, Nice Horse, and many other talented acts from across the province.

Our next performance takes place Saturday, September 9th at The Venue in High River. Event details can be found HERE.

Debut Album Coming Soon

Well it's official folks... the spring is finally here and with it comes new life! These past two years have been hard on us all in many ways, but we've managed to pull through and now we are thrilled to announce that we've produced some brand new Flint & Feather recordings!

We plan to release these songs throughout this fall as our debut artist release - first online as a series of digital singles followed by the release of a physical album which will be available for purchase this winter or by pre-order here. It feels incredible to finally share our music with the world after a long drought and we hope you'll share our joy!

Career Updates: NEW ALBUM!

Hey folks, it has been a strange year for many to say the least, so we've been reflecting on all the amazing opportunities we enjoyed last year. We figured that we'd let you know about some super cool news... Since we've faced nearly a year's worth of event cancellations so far due to COVID-19, we've begun recording our debut album! We've been working on this record with with producer, Paul Zacharias of Wheelhouse Sound and are super thrilled about how things have been coming together.

We're sooo stoked about the sound that we've been able to achieve in-studio so far, and we can hardly wait to start sharing more details about it with you! Please feel free to sign-up to our Artist Newsletter for all recording related updates in the future - and please be safe this summer!

Winter Updates & Recording

We're back home again after showcasing for the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC) in Saskatoon, SK last month. We felt deeply honoured to be included in such an incredible line-up of showcasing artists (literally mind blowing) and felt warmly welcomed by everyone we met there. We can say with all certainty that attending OSAC again is definitely in our plans for the future.

We also want to thank two incredible organizations for supporting our ongoing efforts as independent Canadian performing artists: FACTOR Canada and Canada Council for the Arts. We are deeply grateful for the assistance you've offered to us this past year. We couldn't have done it without either of you.

As for our current situation: we're gigging around the province a little in the midst of a busy life season for our family. In addition to this, we're in the middle of refining our latest songs as we'll be recording again in the next couple of months for the release our debut album in early 2020. We'll be posting more about the entire recording process and experience in the coming weeks so please keep your eyes peeled for our email updates - and feel free to SIGN-UP to our Artist Newsletter if you haven't done so already.

Lauren and I are both super excited about our newest material and can hardly wait to show each of you what we've been working on this past year. We hope you're all having a great fall and that many good things are coming your way. Until next time... ciao ciao for now!

Spring Updates & News

Where to start!? So we've had a long and bitter winter up in Calgary with several cold snaps that nearly threatened to do us in, but the spring is nearly here and we're holding out hope for better days. At the moment we're working on preproduction for our debut EP, which we will be releasing later this year. Many of you know we attended the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity this past fall, and the experience was out of this world. We were able to spend five-weeks exploring new approaches to our songwriting and instrumentation, and we're super excited to start unveiling some of the fruits of this residency over the coming months.

In other incredible news, we've been invited for an Official Showcase at SERFA in Chattanooga, TN, USA in May of this year. We're honoured to have been selected to showcase and are looking forward to bringing our "Rocky Mountain Folk-Pop" sound on down to the south. Plus we'll get to see one of our favourites, Ellis Paul (pictured below), who will be the conference's keynote speaker. **Interesting fact: Joal was inspired to pursue music full-time after seeing Ellis Paul perform at a concert in La Salle, MB. Years later in a very "small world" experience, Ellis graciously came to watch one of Joal's performances in Cochrane, AB after he himself performed a sold-out show at the Calgary Folk Club.

In addition to recording this spring we've also got a great string of shows coming up in Alberta over the next while. Please visit Shows for more details on a performance near you! As always, thank you for following along our journey! It means much more to us than you know.
